The talented cast of Highdown’s Oliver! blew the audience away with an amazing array of talent on the 6th, 7th and 8th of March. Audience members were stunned by the musical talent of the cast and orchestra and amazed at the seamless set moving of the backstage crew. The story of Oliver was told with heart-wrenching moments of outstanding acting and songs that kept the audience captivated from the start. All members of the cast were highly praised by all three audiences but special mention must be given to Matt Harcourt, now in his final year at Highdown, who played Fagin and was likened to professional actors performing on the West End. Franki Watson playing Nancy was also a hot topic with her musical talent enchanting the audience. Not forgetting Oliver himself played by Max Mander, who managed to remain professional and energetic despite performing the title role in two different versions of the show in the space of two weeks. Thank you so much to all staff and students involved in this incredible performance – time to start planning the next one!
