On Wednesday October 19^th, to conclude Year 7’s Introductory Unit on Creative Writing in English, Mark Walden, author of the popular H.I.V.E. series of action/adventure books, visited Highdown School and spoke to the Year 7 students about his writing.

Much of his talk was based on his creation of villains, as opposed to heroes, and the Year 7s enjoyed sharing with him their ideas about their favourite fictional villains.

A number of the students, who had purchased H.I.V.E novels from the Library beforehand, had these signed by the author at the end of his talk. Anyone who, having listened to the author, wants to buy one of his books can still do so by bringing £6.99 to Mrs. Tull in the Library.
